Before Lemoore's big Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and parade, there's a Tree Raising Ceremony.

The joint effort of the Lemoore Volunteer Fire Department and Chamber of Commerce manifests an annual Tree Raising Celebration, in its 95th year in 2017. Come and Join the Fun as the good citizens of Lemoore raise the holiday tree.

It all begins before the Tree Raising Ceremony, when a committee prepares for their annual trek to the Sierras with a crane, chains saws and a custom made trailer to bring back a beautiful 40 to 50 foot tree. Once the tree is selected and hauled back down the mountain, it must be prepared. It is decorated with lights and lowered into a modified manhole in the Fox and D Street intersection. This is Lemoore's most beloved holiday tradition and one the public is invited to share in. The idea is credited to Fireman Frank who figured out how to bring Christmas to the city if everyone pitched in to help.

Come downtown to watch the firemen raise the tree and enjoy a truly "Norman Rockwell" scene--offering a slice of small town Americana.

"Tree Raising Celebration" or a spectacular evening Christmas Parade with 100 or so entries and several thousand spectators lining the parade route

"The Lemoore Christmas Parade" or Santa and Mrs. Claus having breakfast with hundreds of families and personally visiting with several hundred children?
