Sanger loves and honors its trees. In addition to making the annual trek to the nation's Christmas Tree, General Grant, in Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park, the city also celebrates its very own town tree.

The event includes the arrival of Santa Claus,  caroling, a Christmas Message and Refreshments, and the Arrival of Santa Claus!

The city during its centennial year formed a committee to try to establish a marketing plan surrounding the city's claim as "the nation's Christmas Tree" city. While the nation's tree, General Grant, is located in the King Canyon National Forest, each year the Sanger Chamber of Commerce fills up a bus with those who want to visit the redwood forests and place a wreath at the base of one special tree which is one of the biggest trees in the world.

Ideas put forth have included hosting an ice skate rink.
