The traditional start of the
holiday season in Santa Clara turns on hundreds of twinkling lights on the
City's holiday tree. The event features Teddy residing atop the 90-foot lit
tree in Central Park
Feel the spirit of an old fashioned small town Christmas! The City of Santa Clara will celebrate its annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony with ample doses of merrymaking. The celebration of lights and music, complete with cookies and kettle-corn as well as hamburgers and hot dogs, make this a fun community event for all to join in. The evening also includes a very special guest who will arrive on a red fire engine! The event is open to the public.
This year's holiday tree will be located in a Central Park meadow rather than the Civic Center and will feature an outdoor ice skating rink. The tree lighting ceremony begins at 5 p.m. and includes holiday music, entertainment, Santa's Village and a few surprises. Join us for the annual Holiday Tree Lighting in Central Park. Residents and neighbors alike are invited to celebrate traditional Christmas Tree lighting, Santa meet & greet, live music, food, and fun! The event is open to the public, and will take place at Central Park in the meadow adjacent to the Community Recreation Center. Parking is limited so carpooling is recommended. Please remember animals are not allowed per City Ordinance.
Roll back to 2015: it was a special celebration to include additional special activities as Santa Clara launched its Countdown to Kickoff, a series of Super Community activities leading up to Super Bowl 50 at Levi's Stadium in February 2016.
