Get in the spirit of Christmas with a dazzling double dose of fun beginning with the lighting of the 26-foot holiday tree. Carolers & holiday tunes, fun seasonal crafts and hot cocoa & cookies make the evening merry and bright. Next, head to the Holiday Sonata on Greenleaf Avenue in Uptown Whittier for more entertainment.

The City of Whittier Tree Lighting Ceremony and Whittier Uptown Association Holiday Sonata features an evening of holiday cheer with family and friends.. Enjoy holiday shopping at many retailers and boutique and make certain to make reservations at your favorite restaurant. Little ones can take photos with Santa and his Elves at Santa's Village.

This lively annual event is not a solemn occasion, but a festival of celebration with bands, vendor booths, kids bounce house, local entertainment and the big lighting countdown of the 3o foot Christmas Tree in the Annual Grand Illumination. The events also includes refreshments and goodies, and is free to attend.

A local youth choir will perform at the fun ceremony, merchants will hold sidewalk sales and a Kids Wonderland Village on a city lot on Greenleaf Avenue with a bounce house, photo booth, choirs and a dance troupe.
