Buena Park, Calif.--Knott's Berry Farm, a popular Southern California theme
park known for its Fried Chicken Dinners and Boysenberry Pie, became known for
another American favorite in November 2009 when
Pink's Hot Dogs of Hollywood launched one of several new restaurant
locations at theme parks that include Universal Studios Hollywood, plus the Tom
Bradley International Terminal at LAX, and several California fairs in Los
Angeles, Costa Mesa and Perris.
Pink's is a story similar to Orange County's very own Carl Karcher (Carl's
Jr.) in that they both began with a cart selling hot dogs--one in Hollywood and
one in Anaheim. Karcher expanded his empire while Paul Pink and the Pink
family maintained the business as a stand-alone success for around 70 years till
the company began modest expansion recently.
At Knott's Berry Farm the restaurant is accessible outside the park--you do
not need admission to eat there. If you want to eat at other places such as
Johnny Rockets, you will find that
inside the theme park, and it requires purchasing a Knott's admission ticket.
The indoor Pink's cafe has only a few tables and is a
tight fit, but thanks to Southern California's friendly weather, most days you
can eat outdoors on the patio area.
The menu at Knott's Berry Farm includes hamburgers, but does not include the
celebrity dog options you can find in Hollywood.
