
BURLINGAME Pet Parade September 29, 2018

 					Pets must be in line at 9:30 a.m.
					
					Alpacas, police dogs and pet fortune tellers will be part of 
					the fun at the  annual Burlingame Pet Parade on 
					Broadway in Burlingame. The parade is expected to attract 
					more than 1,500 visitors and pet owners accompanied by 
					animals dressed in wild and crazy costumes.
					
					Past events have included kids from First Presbyterian Church Nursery School in 
					Burlingame, the 
					Burlingame High School Band and the Los Trancos Woods 
					Community Marching Band. It will begin at 10 a.m. on 
					Broadway in Burlingame. Pet owners who wish to march with 
					their pets must report by 9:30 a.m. to the parking lot near 
					Broadway and Chula Vista. There is no charge to participate.
					
					This family-friendly event offers free entertainment and art 
					projects for children. Pet fortune tellers will be stationed 
					at the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA's mobile adoption pet 
					vehicle.
					
					Every participant receives a souvenir ribbon and fancy 
					ribbons are awarded for the Best Pet Trick; Most Unusual 
					Pet; Best Dressed Pet; and Most Original Float, Group or 
					Wagon. A Grand Prize winner is selected.
					
					The parade was started in 2004 by a group of volunteers who 
					wanted to promote community spirit. It is entirely supported 
					by volunteers and community donations.  
Other events in Burlingame to celebrate the season include the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony at City Hall held before the parade. In the spring, you can hop into action as the Burlingame Egg Hunts invite the community youth to search for the hidden eggs.
