May brings anticipation to those ready to end a school year. Memorial Weekend, the last week in May, celebrates summer's arrival with many events, picnics, and trips to the beach. May is also a busy season for the launch of summertime festivals & events such as fairs.

May 1, 2012 - 13th annual Newport Beach Film Festival will present its Italian Spotlight, an evening celebration of Italian cinema and culture.  Time of event: 7:45 pm - midnight. The event will feature the Orange County premiere of the highly acclaimed film, Immature (Immaturi), followed by a festive post screening gala. The comedic  film centers six friends who, due to a technical error, must retake a major high school exam  20 years later.  The Spotlight film, Immature (2011, Comedy Italy, 108 minutes) will
screen on Tuesday, May 1st at 7:45pm at Edwards Big Newport. The post-screening celebration will take place at Fashion Island located across Newport Center  Drive from the theaters. The evening will include 12 of top restaurants serving signature tastings, multiple DJs, live entertainment and a special  performance by Orange County Aerial Arts.
