Benicia's Halloween tradition continues with the annual Halloween Costume Contest and Sidewalk Stroll.  Kids of all ages enjoy the popular Halloween event. Merchants on First Street offer candy and treats as kids and families stroll. Benicia Main Street offers a great time for kids of all ages during the popular Halloween costume contest and sidewalk stroll. The local merchants on First Street get into the spirit of the holiday for all to shop and enjoy.

Canine Costume Contest

At noon on the First Street Green, located at First and East B Streets, the public can enjoy the ever-popular Canine & Critter Costume Contest with prizes.    with awards and treats. Announcement of the winners of the Halloween Costume Contest to follow. Rain or shine.

Scarecrow Contest and Scarecrows

BENICIA: Downtown Scarecrow Contest October 7-31, 2023 mostly on First Street from 90 First St. to 929 First St. Voting ends on October 23, 2023. Free to see,  beniciamainstreet.org

See scarecrows throughout California

Businesses on First Street and throughout Benicia will show off imaginatively created scarecrows. A directory of participating businesses will be listed on Benicia Main Street's website and available at all participating businesses. Three mystery judges will pick 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in Best Scarecrow. The public is invited to vote on People's Choice by picking up a ballot at participating businesses, Benicia Main Street, or during the Thursday night Farmers Market.
