Murphys Witch Walk features 40 vendors offering curious, odd, eccentric, esoteric, spooky, Pagan, spiritual, sacred, and witchy collectibles, baubles, trinkets, ephemera, ornaments, novelties, knickknacks and assorted works of art just in time for Halloween.

Every third Saturday in October this event takes place downtown in the shopping district along Main Street, where merchants get in the holiday spirit. Music is hosted by the various businesses, pubs and wine tasting rooms, therefore there is live music throughout the town at a wide range of venues.

Funds raised go to local charities and in 2022, raffle ticket sales revenue were donated to Ronald McDonald House Northern California in honor of a local 9-year old boy undergoing treatment for Medulloblastoma Brain Cancer.

The Murphys Witch Walk owes its success to its decentralized production concept that allows the business community to creatively participate without any direction or supervision from the festival producers, thereby maintaining the surprising uniqueness of the event year after year. Businesses host entertainment, music and/or decorate accordingly, displaying their creativity to create very festive and engaging destinations throughout town that curious attendees want to visit and explore.

The Murphys Witch Walk was voted BEST CALAVERAS ANNUAL EVENT in the 2022 Ledger Dispatch "Best of Calaveras" Reader's Choice Award and the festival took the 2021 Calaveras Arts and Entertainment Award for BEST MURPHYS FESTIVAL EVENT.
