 On Friday, November 1, join friends and neighbors at Villa-Parke Community Center to celebrate Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). The Human Services and Recreation Department is teaming up with Armory Center for the Arts to commemorate the centuries-old holiday with dance performances; arts and crafts; food available for purchase; and ofrendas, altars honoring the lives of the deceased.  Dia de los Muertos is a Human Services and Recreation Department event 

Kidspace Haunted Arroyo

Arroyo Adventure will be glowing with ghouls, spooks, and mystery as you journey through the Haunted Arroyo. Light yourself up with glow in the dark paint, and make glow in the dark potions. Create glowing lanterns, join the Monster Mash dance party, and visit the slime station.

PASADENA: Kidspace Pumpkin Festival

October 19-20, 2019, 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

Crafts, games, pumpkins to pick, music, kids' shows, dance troupes and food vendors such as In N Out Burger, Kona Ice, Yogurtland and more. Petting zoo, pony rides, exciting bouncers, carnival games, and seasonal crafts. Partake in a costume parade, enjoy face painting, and visit the pumpkin patch. There's a great costume sale, and tasty picnic treats. Entrance to the festival, parking, and live performances are free, tickets can be purchased to enjoy activities and food. All proceeds benefit Kidspace Children's Museum a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Halloween Trick-or-treat  Old Pasadena

October 31, 2019, 5-8 p.m.

A frightfully good time for the whole family! Bring your costumed ghosts and ghoulies to trick-or-treat store-to-store in Old Pasadena. Look for the Ambassador Guides in the yellow shirts and friendly costumed characters who will be handing out treats, greeting our visitors, and posing for photos. All activities are free and open to all!

Head over to One Colorado Courtyard and continue your store-to-store Trick-or-Treating. (Treats for the little ones while supplies last.) Have your family portrait snapped by their photographer extraordinaire in the Halloween-themed courtyard setting. Photos conclude at 8 p.m. and the line will be adjusted accordingly - arrive early!

Also, enjoy a free outdoor screening of Tim Burton's  The Nightmare before Christmas in the Courtyard beginning at 7 p.m.

Old Pasadena celebrates Day of the Dead, the reverent yet vibrant Mexican holiday that honors loved ones who have passed before us. The celebration spans two days and includes:

Community Celebration on Big Bang Theory Way

Come stroll the alley and take in live marimba and mariachi music, craft-making, free calavera face painting and the Community Altar dedicated to our loved ones. Bring along a photo or remembrance to leave on the altar or create your own at our craft tent!
