When Pismo Beach Pier underwent renovation in 2017 the Pumpkins on the Pier event was moved to another venue. The Pismo Beach Pier officially re-opened on October 20, 2018 but the event continued to be held elsewhere and has been renamed Pumpkins in the Park.
Annual Pumpkins in the Park (formerly Pumpkins on the Pier) Halloween celebration includes pumpkin decorating, games, crafts, bounce houses, and costume contests. The first 500 children will have the opportunity to pick out their very own pumpkin to decorate! There will be costume contests beginning at 11:30 AM and will include multiple prizes in each division. The divisions will include: 3 years and under, 4-5 years, 6-8 years, 9-12 years, 13+/adult, and family.
October 30, 2021, 3-5 p.m.
The City of Arroyo Grande Recreation Services Department along with sponsors FRM, Kiwanis Club of Arroyo Grande Valley, and Scarecrow, Inc. present an Annual Halloween Carnival and Haunted Maze on the Saturday before Halloween each year from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Elm Street Park (corner of Ash and Elm streets). Carnival games for candy and toy prizes, cookie decorating, hot dogs and hamburgers, the haunted maze, a costume contest and a pumpkin decorating contest. To enter the pumpkin decorating contest participants should bring decorated pumpkins from home. Tickets for the carnival and maze can be purchased at the Recreation office, 1221 Ash Street, or at the door. In addition to
Christmas, the pier is the spot for an event celebrating Pumpkins on the Pier,
Egg Hunt, and the Annual Clam Festival.
