August County Fairs in California

The most enthusiastic month to see a fair in California is August. Why? Fair goers have likely attended their fair share and probably have been to one or more before August arrives. When Labor Day (first Monday in September) looms on the horizon as the traditional end of summer celebration/holiday, people hold dear to their summer activities and tend to look at them as precious — and fleeting.

Carnival operators, fair vendors, food vendors and participants see August not only as the height of the fair season, but also as the final stretch before the fairs go dark at October's conclusion.
