This is a list of our fair page entries but mostly what people want to know are the dates of California fairs. There are 58 counties in California and nearly all of them host a county fair. Several fairs are a combination of two adjoining counties such as Sonoma-Marin County Fair, Chowchilla-Madera County Fair and Plumas- Sierra County Fair. There's also Eastern Sierra Tri-County Fair representing Inyo, Mono & Alpine Counties.
Now it's clear that not every single county in California hosts a fair on its own. Some counties are just too darned small with populations of less than 25,000 people. How can that be possible in the most populated state in the U.S.? California has many mountains, deserts and national forests that are not inhabited except for a few souls. That's how. Fairgrounds range from small facilities with room enough for a few thousand visitors to huge, year-round facilities such as San Diego County Fairgrounds and the Del Mar Racetrack or Los Angeles County Fairgrounds in Pomona known as Fairplex. Sacramento, the State Capitol of California, even hosts two major fairs, The Sacramento County Fair and the California State Fair.
We could go on for days about fairs because we loved them but the best way to get to know the fairs is to go see them!
