Kite Competitions, Octopile, Candy Drop, Kite Battles, Kid Zone with pony rides, bounce houses, and more. Food, crafts and free kites. Are you looking for a family affair? Berkeley Kite Festival is one of California's premier events for having fun, free. Though it isn't the only free kite festival in California, it certainly offers a spectacular setting and generally great wind conditions for getting kites up and flying.

Among the attractions and events are a kite making space for kids to build and fly their own, learning basic science principles through this hands-on, fun activity.
