SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF.--Pier 39 is
one of San Francisco's top tourist
attractions. It is a waterfront
entertainment venue (2 stories) filled
with restaurants, an outdoor carousel,
an aquarium and special events such as
the holiday tree lighting, 4th of
July Fireworks display, Halloween,
return of seals and sea lions, and
Tulipmania.
Tulipmania each February
is an orchestration of vibrant tulips
filling planters throughout the area.
Apricot Beauties, Texas Flames, Purple
Princes, Flaming Parrots, Swan Wings and
Burgundy Lace are types of tulips you'll
want to photograph at this spectacular
event.
Known for Fisherman's Wharf,
the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and cable cars,
just weeks before Easter bunnies come
Tulipmania greets
tourists and locals to a real treat,
complete with free guided tours beginning at
10 a.m. daily.
At the entrance to the
Plaza tour guides will tell
you all about these beautiful flower
arrangements. Topped with winter
vegetables such as lettuce, parsley,
celery and red chard, guests are
delighted each year by the visual feast.
