This annual sell-out event offers a full day of mariachi entertainment from Southern California mariachi groups and possibly more from the surrounding states such as Nevada.  Live musical entertainment and great food create a festive atmosphere and the historic mission. Mariachi performers compete for cash prizes before a panel of judges. In the past there has been the ringing of the historic Mission bells, a special performance of the National Anthem, folkloric performances and other activities for all ages.

Mariachi performances, which include competition in both the "youth" and "open" categories, begin at 11:15 a.m.

Besides crowning the Mariachi winners as decided upon by the judges, there will be another award presented: The People's Choice Award.
