Mendocino County is a garden spot filled with flowers, fragrances and perfect settings. Shown in photos is the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens "Heath & Heather Garden", and a plein air painter making ample use of color on canvas in this flower oasis. The Annual Rhododendron Show at Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens is one of the largest shows on the West Coast. Over 700 Rhododendron grower entries are featured in this public event in which plants are sold. Admission is free!  In addition to Mendocino County, Humboldt County puts on its own "Rhody" celebration with the annual Rhododendron Parade.

    Late perennials, winter heathers, camellias, and wild mushrooms
The Mendocino Coast is in bloom and lovelier than ever. Believe it not, you can see spectacular blossoming plants and trees throughout the season in the mild-weathered coastal destination known for ample rain mixed with sunshine overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens features a variety of plants in themed areas ranging from Heath & Heathers, over 100 mushrooms spotted on site, to a spectacular Rhododendron garden celebrated in the  John Druecker Memorial Rhododendron Show and Plant Sale held in early May. One of the largest shows on the West Coast with over 700 entries,  admission is free!
