Redondo Beach Pier Christmas

REDONDO BEACH, CALIF. -- Christmas is by no means a slow day on Redondo Beach Pier. In fact it is just the opposite. If you're looking for a place to stroll with the family, eat a meal and enjoy the sunny Southern California weather, this is a great spot to go. The pier may even offer free parking in the on-site garage. There are no guarantees from year to year but good times surely await those looking for something to do on Christmas Day!

Free parking at the Redondo Beach Pier was an added bonus for us, but all of L.A. seemed to know about it as the lot was packed.
  • Fish markets galore. There's more than a fair share of Asian Americans who make eating at the Redondo Pier a holiday tradition thanks to the open fish markets where you pick your fresh catch and they cook it on spot.
  • Over a dozen affordable and diverse restaurants open for the holiday -- Mexican food, steaks, seafood and Italian are a few options we've tried (without even having reservations!)
  • Exercise -- Redondo Pier recently added Yoga on the Pier to  regularly scheduled events, but on Christmas people are riding bikes, jogging and strolling. Billed as the Longest Endles Pier in California, the structure loops around so you can stroll all day without ever having to turn back!
  • Free fishing is a favorite for those who get rods & reels as Christmas gifts.

On your next trip to Los Angeles don't miss this gem. It is just a few miles south of Los Angeles International Airport!
