HB's Newest Store Sprouts Up at Warner and Goldenwest

By C. MacDonald

Bright, airy and easy to find things in, Huntington Beach's newest store—Sprouts Farmer Market—recently opened at 6942 Warner Ave. (off Goldenwest). Once you walk inside you can see throughout the entire, well lit store and easily locate the bakery, deli, produce, vitamin and natural food sections. There's even an eye-catching cascading vertical wall of produce, where lettuce, celery, broccoli and carrots stand for your appraisal at the south side of the store.

Baked daily are muffins and bread. There are all natural handmade sausages. Bulk barrels (that link to the markets of the 19th Century) offer such things as almonds, pecan halves and pinto beans. In the vitamin section, signs clearly tell where products are for sleep, digestive help and immune support. They offer a variety of organic products, such as bananas, Red Delicious apples, Curly, Lacinato or Russian Red Kales, Hass avocados, table carrots, green cabbage, heirloom tomatoes, sprouts salad blends, Valencia oranges, Muir Glen tomatoes, unrefined coconut oil and maple syrup. Some of their seafood includes, Fresh Atlantic Salmon Fillets, Wild Caught Center-Cut Swordfish Steaks. There's also a wide variety of wines.

Sprouts has its own brand of fruit bars, cookies, pasta sauces and salad dressing. "People love our sea salt vinegar almonds," said Marketing Manager Lacey Davidson, who flew in from Phoenix, for the opening. "Here we have our first juice bar in California." And there's a Panini bar, expanded gourmet cheese area and olive bar, with 16 different varieties.

"We pride ourselves with the freshest vegetables and fruits," Davidson said. "Not only do we offer great value and quality but your satisfaction is guaranteed. If you're not delighted with anything you purchase at Sprouts, we'll be happy to exchange it or with a proper receipt, refund your money. We want you to use our guarantee as a license to be adventurous and try new products without risk!"

The store, which is open 7am to 10pm daily, also has "Double Ad Wednesdays," where you can use the previous week's ads and the current week's ads for discounts. Store Manager Eric Kee said he's excited about his friendly management team and employees. "They're very knowledgeable and want to exceed customer expectations." Assistant Store Manager Matt Kuntz, Regional Vice President Glade Campbell and others were busy making the final magical touches before the store's grand opening, January 22. The newest Sprouts, located in the former Ralphs, which has been closed for over 5 years, is a welcome addition to the region. Welcome Sprouts!
