The original, classic Disneyland in Anaheim has gained fame throughout the decades for creations that bring fantasy to life in a most magical way. Among those famed attractions is the Main Street USA Electrical Parade with a storybook past. The amazing thing is that due to popular demand it keeps coming back!

 Main Street Electrical Paradeonce again lights up Disneyland Park as it returns for its 50th anniversary in spring 2022. This spectacular pageant of nighttime magic and imagination will be led by the iconic train and drum unit featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy, and proclaiming in lights: Disneyland Presents - Main Street Electrical Parade. The parade brings back many guest favorites including Elliot the Dragon and floats from Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella and Peter Pan.

  • Spring 2022 Main Street Electrical Parade returns once again!
  • August 2-September 30, 2019 Main Street Electrical Parade Returns to Disneyland Resort for a limited engagement.
  • 2017 the dazzling after-dark parade ran for a limited-time at Disneyland 
  • 2001-2010 Disney California Adventure Park featured the Main Street Electrical Parade
  • 1972-1996 Main Street Electrical Parade made its world debut at Disneyland June 17, 1972, and later appeared at Disney Parks around the world. This spectacular pageant of nighttime magic and imagination entertained guests with 3,600 performances at Disneyland until it glowed away on November 25, 1996. An estimated 75 million guests viewed the Main Street Electrical Parade during its original Disneyland run.

  • 600,000 lights sparkle in the parade
  • The nighttime journey travels from Small World Mall in Fantasyland to Town Square on Main Street, U.S.A. 
  • 22 floats illuminate the parade route at Disneyland
  • 12 floats were seen in the parade's debut in 1972
  • 7 films are represented in the parade
  • Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Dumbo and Pete's Dragon movies make appearance through characters and lighted floats
  • 27 beloved Disney characters perform throughout the show including Mickey Mouse, Tinker Bell, Cinderella and Goofy
  • 80 parade performers (estimated number per night)
  • 10 To Honor America patriots, 16 royal court dancers and the Seven Dwarfs participate
  • 35 lighted costumes are worn by the parade performers.
  • Alice in Wonderland sequence includes 8 jittering insect floats
  • The tallest float is Clock Tower in the  Cinderella sequence, at At 18'6"  high
  • To Honor America float is the longest float in the parade at At 118'
  • To Honor America was added in 1979 after the successful bicentennial tribute parade America on Parad
  • At 5,600 pounds, the massive Elliot float, added in 1977 for the release of Pete's Dragon, measures 16 feet tall, 10 feet wide and 38 feet long.
  • Baroque Hoedown synthesizer music accompanying the parade was created by Composers Jean-Jacques Perrey and Gershon Kingsley in 1967
  • In 1972 the song was interwoven with classic Disney themes to create the now iconic parade soundtrack.
  • 6 different colors of light bulbs flash throughout the parade, in amber, blue, green, chartreuse, red and pink.
  • 150,000 glowing amber lights are used in the production, the most of any color.
  • 80 highly skilled cast members were involved in the creation of Main Street Electrical Parade, including 20 designers and 60 craftspeople.
  • 5 Disney Parks have presented versions of the Main Street Electrical Parade including Disneyland, Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom Park, Disney California Adventure Park, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris.
