Shopping

Sports- Big Bear Lake sports include lake sports such as fishing and water skiing during the summer months. But the highlight to a Big Bear Lake vacation is the winter ski season. During the summer there is a 9-hole golf course in operation. One of the most popular year-round activities at Big Bear Lake is hiking on the mountain trails.

Golf 9-hole course (summer months)
Horse stables for horseback riding
miniature golf (summer)
mountain hikes
mountain bikes
boating
water skiing
swimming

Skiing- Two ski resorts include Bear Mountain and Snow Summit, located only a 10 minute shuttle ride apart. Free shuttle service is provided between them, as they are owned and operated by one company.

Snowboarding- The same two mountains that offer snow skiing and up to 9,000 foot elevations (Bear Peak: 8,805 feet) provide lessons, trails, supplies and rentals for snowboarding sports.

Vacations

Events are plentiful throughout the seasons, but one of our favorites is the annual Big Bear Oktoberfest. It is the most interesting of all California German celebrations for Oktoberfests. The contests really make the event unique.

Lodging includes cabins, hotel rooms, bed and breakfast hotels and resorts with prices generally ranging from around $65 to $350 per night, depending on your budget.
