Livermore is California's oldest wine region and home to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratory. The city combines a love of arts, culture, western heritage, wine-making, and science, to provide a unique blend unlike any place in California.

One of the highlights to visits is the renaissance is Downtown Livermore, filled with history and charm that includes the Historic Railroad Depot on 20 S. L Street. Old combines with new in the shopping, dining, entertainment and cultural district that showcases a 10-screen cinema and a 500-seat performing arts center.

Recipient of Great American Main Street Awards, National Trust Main Streets Center presented Downtown Livermore, Inc., the honor for exceptional accomplishments in revitalizing one of America's historic and traditional Main Street commercial districts. Downtown Livermore, Inc., has used the National Trust for Historic Preservation's Main Street Four-Point Approach to transform a once blighted area before the revitalization effort began to a vibrant San Francisco Bay Area downtown, considered a true wine-country destination.

Founded in 1869, Livermore in Alameda County is the easternmost city in the San Francisco Bay Area and gateway to the Central Valley. The coastal range mountains flank the Livermore Valley, which enjoys a mild climate and inspiring scenery.

Wine tasting & tours: Over 25 wineries provide wine tours, winery events, sampling and sales of your favorite Livermore Valley wines.

Local arts & culture includes Del Valle Fine Arts, Livermore-Amador Symphony, Livermore Cultural Arts Council, Livermore Valley Opera, Valley Concert Chorale and Valley Dance Theatre.

Las Positas Golf Courses, designed by Robert Muire Graves, is of championship design, par 72, 18 hole course of 6,800 yards. The course officially opened in April 1967. The seven lakes, a creek and beautiful trees throughout the Las Positas Golf Course demands the golfer's attention. Las Positas Golf Course also boasts a challenging nine hole Executive Course with two lakes.
