A Christmas tradition for our family is the annual December 25 drive in Southern California to enjoy the scenery on what normally turns out to be a picture-perfect day. 2017 did not disappoint!
At least three or four times we’ve ended up in L.A.’s South Bay comprised of Redondo Beach, Torrance Beach, Rancho Palos Verdes, Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach. In 2017 we were initially heading south for San Diego but decided there would only be time to step out of the car, then turn around since we got a late start.
We drove past a dozen beach cities & towns on our trip north and stopped at Redondo Beach, a truly the happening place on Christmas Day!
Why? Read the answer!
Free parking at the Redondo Beach Pier was an added bonus for us, but all of L.A. seemed to know about it as the lot was packed.
On your next trip to Los Angeles don’t miss this gem. It is just a few miles south of Los Angeles International Airport!
