California Theme Park News Summer 2014

California’s theme parks announce new attractions and summer hours each year. Here are some highlights for Summer 2014:

OFFERS:  “All Day”Dining Plan” for a flat fee (around $25-30) at two Cedar Fair parks, Knott’s Berry Farm and Great America,  grants guests meals every 90 minutes at a list of theme park restaurants offering select menus.

SHOWS:

  • At San Diego Zoo Safari Park, “Summer Safari Asian Show” kicks off with Chinese acrobats, Japanese Taiko drummers and martial arts masters.
  • Cirque Dreams Splashtastic – the most amazing show above H20 – returns for its second year at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom from June 14 through August 17.
  • SeaWorld San Diego Summer Nights includes a sensational, splashy show ending with fireworks.
  • Fireworks happen every night at Disneyland as well as FROZEN characters in a special pre-parade float for “Mickey’s Soundsational Parade.”
  • Knott’s Berry Farm managed to snag 20-year Disneyland performers Kirk & the Hillbillies for weekend shows.

RIDES & ATTRACTIONS:

  • Depsicable Me opened recently at Universal Studios Hollywood, which plans to invest over $1 billion in its California attraction and studios.
  • Six Flags Magic Mountain opened a new kids’ roller coaster.
  • Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (Vallejo) launched Tsunami Soaker.
