California’s Great Floating Pumpkin Patches

One of the most immersive ways to pick pumpkins is at a floating patch in a swimming pool. Talk about cool! Summer’s heat isn’t quite finished and this weekend you can take a refreshing dive for a pumpkin surprise if you happen to be near the Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District’s Aquatic Center in Hemet. Great Pumpkin Plunge takes place on Sept.29, 2018.

Maybe we’ve just scratched the surface of these unique pumpkin patches and events, but we’ve found over a dozen throughout the state and hope these pumpkin plunges continue to catch on. SeeCalifornia.com has been looking for them during the past couple years and there does seem to be a trend of growth with several more added this year. If you go… some are preregistration through parks & rec departments. Some are all ages while some are kids only. A few are free to enjoy but the majority have a fee, especially to cover the cost of a pumpkin you can take home.
