SAN FRANCISCO, CA–For four or five weekends leading up to Christmas each year The Great Dickens Christmas Fair invites the public to enter a storybook world based on famous literary works of English author Charles Dickens. While “A Christmas Carol” plays abound during the holiday season, this festival is an immersive experience akin to a living theater where guests can interact with characters playing roles. Your family can also don Victorian costumes and step into the shoes of 19th century Christmas celebrants.

For Dickens fans unable to make it to San Francisco the International Printing Museum in Carson has a one day festival of fun, Dickens Holiday Celebration, held in a museum filled with vintage printing presses.

Like The Nutcracker ballet, A Christmas Carol play is a must for performing arts enthusiasts seeking holiday traditions!
