LONG BEACH, CALIF.–Santa Diver is featured at Aquarium of the Pacific’s Aquarium Holidays December 7-23, 2019. Among the attractions at the delightful celebration are ocean animal ornaments, scuba snowman greeting cards, holiday treats for the animals and snow in front of the aquarium! It is one of many zoo & aquarium events throughout California putting unique twists on this special time of year.

If diving Santa doesn’t float your boat, the Sand Snowman contest in Hermosa Beach may do so. Many who live and grow up at the beach have never seen snow so this type of activity becomes their holiday norm.

In the Swedish town of Kingsburg they celebrate Christmas with the annual Santa Lucia Festival. Part of this tradition has the oldest daughter of the household adorning herself in a long white gown, red sash and a glowing crown of candles. She wakens the family members with Lucia songs and serves saffron buns and coffee at their bedside. (In Solvang there are similar traditions with a Danish Tree Lighting and Julefest Parade.)

Altadena has a wonderful tradition that delights visitors who drive for miles to see the lighted Deodar cedar trees, decorated by volunteers from around town. Christmas Tree Lane has been a labor of love for 99 years! It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

From the Gingerbread House Displays created by California’s famous chefs, to cool holiday trains complete with Santa, cookies & cocoa or The Polar Express in Fillmore and Perris, sky’s the limit in the State of California. Skydive Santa, Surfing Santa and Riverboat Santa are a few of the must-see attractions you can put on your bucket list.

It’s time to get the party started on this holiday of fun!
