Probably everyone among us has experienced ghosts. Whether visiting a California ghost town, seeing classic works of literature in stage performances such as the Ghost of Christmas Past in A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, wearing Halloween costumes, or even taking ghost tours hoping to be spooked, ghosts are part of our culture. You can’t escape them!
While I wore a Halloween ghost costume to Trick or Treat one Halloween, my first serious exposure to the topic came from Illinois where my uncle purchased an old building he used for his thriving plumbing supply business. He and employees talked about being scared out of their wits in the basement where strange things happened. My uncle, himself, felt someone place a jacket on his shoulders one night as he sat at desk down there. So convinced that there was no logical explanation, he contacted nationally known paranormal investigators who flew to Quincy to give their opinions. Sure enough, they believed my uncle.
Like UFOs and their alien occupants, ghosts are mainstream and nowhere more popular than California. Here are a few ghost experiences that materialize, then sometimes disappear…
