ORINDA, CALIF. –A jazz festival Oktoberfest?– So what’s that all about? We asked Carol Alban, the creator/producer of this new event and she answered like this: “There will be lots of jazz and also some German music (with me playing accordion!) and of course there will be beer and men wearing lederhosen and women wearing dirndls.”

The themed jazz festival, now in its 7th year, features Grammy winner Mads Tolling, a must-see violinist who performs everything from 60s hits to classics and jazz. Also in the line up is Grammy nominee vocalist, Clif Payne, plus an all-star cast Alban selected for this special event.

Alban, an accomplished multi-instrumentalist (flute, piano, guitar, ukulele), vocalist and composer, has performed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center and has been featured with the Bay Area Chamber Symphony. She is founder of the Alban Music School.
