Laughter doesn’t cure your ills but it may help:

  • Relieve stress
  • Relieve pain
  • Reduce blood pressure
  • Boost immune system
  • Stimulate your mind

That said, if you take comedy seriously it can also drive your blood pressure through the roof, especially if you don’t agree with the political views of the comedians in this highly-charged environment.

Wildly popular in California, there are dozens of comedy clubs in major cities and beyond. Here is a small sampling:

  • HOLLYWOOD: The Laugh Factory features Rob Schneider this week
  • LOS ANGELES: The Comedy Store on Sunset Blvd. features 365 days a year of comedy with David Spade and Jeremy Piven
  • SACRAMENTO: Punch Line Comedy Club hosts Steve Trevino
  • HERMOSA BEACH: Hermosa Beach Comedy and Magic Club features comedian Kevin Nealon, and on many weekends Jay Leno (Jan. 21, 28, Feb.4, 11, 18 and March 4, 11, 18, 25, 2018)
  • SAN DIEGO: The Comedy Palace hosts Michael Malone and a Romantic Valentine’s Day Comedy Show
  • PLEASANTON & RANCHO CORDOVA: Tommy T’s Comedy Club welcomes Sinbad, Ladies Night Comedy and Hunks Male Revue
