Keeping the Beat at CA Music Festivals This Week

California has unleashed all its pent up musical talent this week as evidenced by the unbelievable music scene. In additon to more than 50 concerts in the park, there are about a dozen great music festivals and festivals such as LA Pride where music is one of the major highlights of the event.

- Fairfax Festival again features Big Brother & the Holding Company June 11 -12, 2016
- Hollywood Bowl hosts Playboy Jazz Festival with Robert Cray Band and Fourplay Silver Anniversary
- Huck Finn Jubilee in Ontario June 10-12 has dozens of bands, including David Grisman Bluegrass Experience
- San Marcos Summer Music Fest June 11 includes Upstream (reggae)
- Sonoma’s Gundlach Bundschu Winery holds Huihcica Music Festival June 10-11
- Berkeley World Music Festival June 11-12, 2016 spans the globe’s music scene
- Irvine Fish Music Festival is sold out but Beachside Summerfest at Huntington Beach Pier June 11 features a full day of Christian rock
- Covina Swing Festival June 11-12 includes two days of swing dancing opportunities
- Ojai Music Festival June 9-12 is a classical music festival presenting new works juxtaposed with seldom heard works from past masters
- Long Beach Uptown Music Festival is the annual free jazz event in Houghton Park June 11
- Amador City Banjo Festival June 11 includes Sacramento Banjo Band
- Huntington Beach Pier Plaza Surfin’ Sunday June 12 has half a dozen surf bands, including Tiki Lounge Lizards
