Festival, Beach Advice: Check Pet Policies Before You Go!

We recently received an email from someone who said he purchased a ticket to an outdoor festival on Groupon and was turned away at the gate when he showed up with his dog. He assumed dogs are admitted into festivals and events unless otherwise stated. While he reported that Groupon refunded his money, he believes it is correct to assume dogs are allowed into every event and place unless otherwise stated. Is his way of thinking valid?
While the scale has tipped with more families in California owning pets than not, your best bet is to assume your dog is not allowed. Please, please, check with officials in charge before you go — especially on the 4th of July! Here are 4th of July dog tips.
