Pizza Festival
The average American eats around 50 slices of pizza each year, but it’s likely most of us eat more than that. 50 slices is less than one slice per week. The popular all-in-one meal that you can eat without using utensils is part of the monthly diet of more than 90% of Americans, and about one-third of us specify pepperoni as a topping. With more than 5,000 books written about pizza, 70,000 pizzerias in the U.S., and annual sales topping $38 billion, pizza is something to celebrate. Lemoore, California has dedicated an entire festival just to pizza! Lemoore Chamber of Commerce produces the free-admission Central Valley Pizza Festival April 17-19, 2015, which includes pizza eating contest, the giant pizza, pizza toss competition and three days of pizza-loving fun.
