PALM SPRINGS, CA — Crazy California Christmas to you and your alien friends! Kenny Irwin, Jr., pictured, is a talented, yet slightly offbeat artist (what artist isn’t?) who says he’s spent his lifetime devoted to art and sculptures for people all over the world to enjoy in peace, love and harmony. The biggest, privately owned Christmas lights display in the world opened on Nov. 27, 2014, Thanksgiving Day. The show was dark in 2013, but that wasn’t the only time. Kenny’s had some of the lights stolen from the display, he’s heard objections from neighbors, and he says the fantastic fantasy costs a small fortune to produce (usually over $100K in lighting, electricity and supplies!) Open daily from Thanksgiving to Jan. 6, 2015, you will find the unique attraction at 1077 E. Granvia Valmonte in Palm Springs. Although the event is free, donations are recommended. Official info is available at robochristmas.com  If you want to experience Christmas in Palm Desert, don’t forget to check out the Aerial Tramway Tree Lighting and while in town, go see the Elvis House.
