It’s a good thing to be a nosy neighbor or curious visitor when it comes to the Sausalito Floating Homes Tour taking place on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015. If not for the inquisitive folks willing to pay $40-45 to step into a house that looks like the entrance to a kelp forest, a canary yellow chalet, and other delightful floating abodes, community causes wouldn’t get a portion of proceeds from this fun festival showcasing Sausalito’s unique, waterfront lifestyle. The event usually sells out so you need to buy tickets beforehand and save $5 from day-of-event sales that are only offered if tickets remains. The Floating Homes Tour is sponsored by the Floating Homes Association, a non-profit volunteer organization representing the owners and residents of floating homes.
