When 100% of something in the nation is grown where you live, you should celebrate! And that’s exactly what Selma, Calif. does this week May 4-8, 2016 when the Fresno County city pays homage to Thompson Seedless, Zante Currents, Seedless Flames and Golden Raisins, to name a few. 100% of raisins in the U.S. are grown within a 60 mile radius and Selma boasts its fair share with raisin growers and/or packers that include Lion Raisins, Circle K. Ranch, American Raisin Packers Inc, ABC Raisins and Sunview Dried Fruit & Nut Company. Selma hasn’t always been nutty about raisins — at one time its moniker was, “Home of the Peach”.
Come on out to the Selma Raisin Festival for a carnival, fun run, baking competition, queen coronation and a Mini Mariachi Festival.
