This weekend is filled not only with some of SeeCalifornia.com’s favorite festivals, but also events that are special to our state of California. Here’s what and why!

MENLO PARK: Pacific Fine Arts Festival is a celebration of music, arts, food and beverages.

MIRAMAR: Blue Angels Air Show is hosted at the wintering home of the elite crew of Navy Blue Angels squadron. This show is spectacular.

MURRIETA: Get Shamrocked music festival brings the best of Celtic music to Town Square Park. In a few short years it has become one of the best Celtic music festivals in the West.

PACIFICA: Pacific Coast Fog Fest: Who in their right mind celebrates fog? Pacifica, Calif. residents do each year in September. The coastal locale south of the San Francisco is known for its fantastic fishing pier, great surfing at Rockaway Beach, and fog! San Francisco is better known for it but Pacifica gets the same stuff. So they made a fun beach festival filled with games, sandcastle building, a fun run, a parade and if they get lucky, they’ll have fog!

PALO ALTO: Great Glass Pumpkin Festival has been a Fall standard for more than 20 years. Who could imagine that something so unique would maintain its brilliance for so long! It’s going strong.

SAN DIEGO: Cabrillo Festival. One of the top tourist destinations in California celebrates its roots at the annual Cabrillo Festival, which pays homage to Spanish explorer Juan Cabrillo, who sailed into the San Diego Bay on September 28, 1542. A re-enactment of that event, dancing, food and merriment are in store for the day.

YERMO: Calico Days in Calico Ghost Town is pure, old-fashioned fun with burro races, a gunfighter show, bubblegum blowing contest and so much more.
