Welk Resort San Diego Autumn Palms

Published on: October 10, 2012

If you’re looking for autumn leaves, Welk Resort in San Diego County’s Escondido may disappoint. The prominent theme is palms swaying in the breeze and tropical nights. The average daytime temperature throughout October is in the upper 70s and winter generally stays in the low to mid-70s. It is one of those escapes that “snowbirds” head for when things get a little too cold, too long.

The resort is known for its golf, spas, swimming pools, variety of accommodations, and theater where you can enjoy great entertainment. Currently RENT, a Rock Opera, is on stage. It ends in late October, and then a comedy play, If You Ever Leave Me I’m Going with You, takes place on a limited run, November 1-11, 2012, featuring renown actors Joe Balogna and Renee Taylor. After that, a Dancin’ Singin’ Swingin’ Christmas musical show sustains the holiday season  Nov.14-Dec. 31, 2012.  One of our favorite attractions is not far away, San Diego Zoo’s Safari Park.

It’s a great place to escape to if you need to turn up the heat  (welkresorts.com). Nightly Rental Reservations: (800) 932-9355.
