Of course the best entertainment of all at West Hollywood Carnaval (weho.org) on Oct. 31 is visual display of  costumes and people wearing them! The charged atmosphere of half a million revelers really brings out something unique and special in the role playing aspect of the Halloween event. In 2014 Lisa Vanderpump, star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules, will be crowned queen of the festival at a 9:30 p.m. coronation ceremony at the San Vicente Stage located at intersection of Santa Monica and San Vicente Boulevards.The free annual festival with stages stretching over one mile of Santa Monica Blvd.  features six zones of  performance artists, DJs, bands, dancers, contortionists, and aerialists who will entertain wildly dressed crowds for five hours. While the event is free and open to the public, it really is an adult event and not recommended for kids and pets.

Line up:

• Garden of Evil with Kyle Nudo, returning ringmaster of the Halloween Hullabaloo, features dance, spooky songs, and daring aerialist acts. High-energy band Jessi Jae and The Ruckus will perform, as well.
• The La Peer Stage is manned by DJ Skruffeh, one of the founders of today’s Southern California Hardstyle scene; and DJ Lady Killer and DJ Kitsch with stiffer, faster beats in the BPM range of 135 to 185.
• Medusa’s Lair emcee Jeffrey Damnit features bands The Toledo Show, a seductive, gritty, feast with Femme Fatale Dancers; Ricky Rebel, former lead singer of No Authority; and acid/soul-singer/songwriter Marley Monroe.
• Latina drag queens Chico’s Angels will emcee the Palm Stage, and Michelle Pesce will DJ and mix the flavor of hip hop with rock, funk, and pop while keeping an old school vibe.
• The Westbourne Stage is emceed by Comedian Ant. DJ Tekki Traxx spins tracks like Tiesto and David Guetta.
• Emcee Peter Vogt at Potions & Spells stage features Noah and the MegaFauna; and LA-based Dario Black, a recording artist from South America.
