Surfer Beach Hotel is exactly what it says, the quality of a surfer hotel, which means that you don't see any three or four diamond ratings necessarily. Location is what the property is about and for that, maybe you sacrifice some amenities—bed quality, rooms above the kitchen potentially, and other such inconveniences. If you don't mind that and are not fussy, you probably will be perfectly happy.
For those who are nit-pickers, stay at the hotel where this picture was taken from —Catamaran. Owned by Evans properties, everything is top notch from the perfectly clean, nicely decorated room with a quality bed, to the on-site dining, cocktail bar, and cruise boat, a Sternwheeler that guests are issued free passports to ride when it goes on weekends in the winter and an extended schedule in the summer.
