Black Friday Shoppers Campout Up to a Week to Shop–Are They Crazy?

What will you be doing on Thanksgiving? Two California girls, Jessica and Michelle will be camping out at Best Buy for Black Friday deals like they have been since Monday, November 21, 2011. But they weren’t the first tent in line. Other campers set up temporary homes in front of the store last Friday making for a full week of waiting. Why? To save $199 on a Sharp TV that normally goes for $399.

This year you can shop to your hearts content on Thanksgiving Day at some stores such as Walmart, where many of the stores regularly open 24 hours will keep the same hours on Thanksgiving. At 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving, it begins offering Black Friday deals for home products, toys and clothes. Other retailers that opened on Thanksgiving last year plan to be open on Thanksgiving again this year.

Toys R Us, Big Lots and Old Navy and Sears are a few stores you can call in your local area to find out if they will be open on Turkey Day.
