Anaheim, Calif.–If the trend continues in Southern California–warm days mixed with a day of cloudiness and possible rain–then back to warm days once again, you may want to take a jacket to Disneyland this winter holiday season. When you watch the Sleeping Beauty Winter Castle light up at night with icicles, you’ll almost believe you’re in some foreign land. And you are! The nighttime Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle light show is a spectacular visual feast that can only be appreciated by seeing it live (See California website is ALL about seeing!) It is but one of dozens of special events, light displays and attractions designed for Merry Disnyeland Holiday Celebration, running through January 8, 2012.

Here’s the scoop on Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle light show:

  • The show is set in three acts over the course of the evening.
  • Each act begins at the Castle and travels the length of Main Street, U.S.A., finishing at the Town Square Christmas tree.
  • Each act features a magical snowfall.
  • The final act concludes with Believe…in Holiday Magic fireworks.
  • The nighttime light show employs more than 200,000 points of light
  • 2,600 individual circuits are involved in this event staging.
  • More than 85,000 individual wiring connections are key to what you see!
  • 48 miles of cable & conductors comprise the show- the distance between Disneyland Anaheim and Disney Studios in Burbank.
