Fallbrook Avocado Festival in Avocado Capital of the World!

Fallbrook in north San Diego County celebrates the local produce annually with a big bash known as the Fallbrook Avocado Festival, held Sunday, April 17, 2011. Celebrating its 25th year, the event is free and attracts over 70,000 people. If you plan to go, go early! The festival is held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Contests are zany and fun. In addition the Biggest Avocado, there will be Avo car races (not the same kind of race as the Long Beach Grand Prix, also held the same weekend) but cars made out of avocados that race down a little board. Little Miss and Mr. Avocado, many contests, bands, dancing, guacamole, and good times await in the beautiful town of Fallbrook, located inland from Oceanside and approx. 60 miles north of San Diego. The event is held downtown near Main Street and shuttles will offer rides from surrounding parking areas.
