Among the more unusual festivals such as Santa Barbara Summer Solstice this weekend is the Festival of Colors in Oceanside. Sacramento had their color festival a week ago and now it’s the Southland’s turn. What is this event? For around $5 admission (and extra for packets of color powder) you let go of cares and worries and live life in full color! Rooted in ancient Indian tradition, Color Festival includes sampling of locally-sourced vegetarian cuisine, live music, yoga, dancing, and of course, the opportunity shower yourself (and total strangers) in vibrant colors during 2 color sessions.
