SAN PEDRO, CALIF. — When the tall ships arrive in the Los Angeles Harbor for the festival in August it’s hard to say what will be more popular, the ships or the world’s largest floating rubber duck sensation leading the Grand Parade of Sail. Tall ships always stir the public’s interest but the 6-story duck leaves a huge impression connecting people to their childhood. Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman created Rubber Duck in 2007 based on the standard model that children from around the world are familiar with. The impressive rubber duck travels the world and pops up in cities from Auckland to Osaka.

Pirate sword fights, cannon battles, an authentic privateer encampment, and admission to historic S.S. Lane Victory and Battleship USS Iowa are included with price of admission to this special event. It’s recommended that you buy your ticket before going to avoid waiting in line at the event: tallshipsfestivalla.com
