Michelin-Starred Tamarind of London Arriving in Newport Beach

Indian cuisine fans have sampled some pretty good fare around the Southland, but after daily doses, it can begin to feel like fast food that becomes too predictable. That explains why the arrival of Tamarind of London, an elegantly casual restaurant near the beaches of Crystal Cove on the Newport Coast, will become the rage-guaranteed. Moghul cuisine will feature fish, meat and game cooked in the authentic tandoor oven style of North West India. Executive Chef Alfred Prasad, the youngest Indian chef to ever receive a Michelin star, applies a creative twist to these dishes.

Nearly a sure bet to begin stealing the show when it opens in Summer 2011, the restaurant has earned Michelin stars for nine years straight in Mayfair, London, and is launching the restaurant as a sister to the original property. On the menu will be approx. 8 types of curry served daily, fresh fish, lamb, chicken and other quality meats and vegetables. Its location in the Crystal Cove Promenade along Coast Highway between Laguna Beach and Corona del Mar is an easily accessible drive with spectacular surroundings. Stay tuned for great things to come!
