Seal Beach is Quaint, Eclectic and a California Beach Classic!

Seal Beach, Calif.-When the unincorporated Sunset Beach in Orange County, Calif. requested that Seal Beach annex it and that city declined, to say that the residents of Sunset Beach were disappointed was an understatement. Seal Beach is known for its small town ways, its shady, tree-lined Main Street, and somewhat conservative stance to growth. As one of the few cities in Orange County that actually had a surplus America's great 21st century depression, Seal Beach must be doing something right. What's so different about the northern OC beach city that borders Los Angeles County?

The city has free parking on its streets. Though suggestions to install meters have come close, you can still drive up and park for an hour or two, dine and shop without worrying about paying a fee to spend your money in their city. As a result, Seal Beach enjoys a large influx of residents from surrounding areas who prefer to shop and play where the city policies are welcoming & inviting.

Along the three block stretch of downtown Seal Beach you'll see antique and classic cars cruising by, several Irish pubs & bars, and some newcomer restaurants featuring BBQ and even Thai. Dine, shop, then stroll the Seal Beach Pier which is the anchor to the downtown. The beach & pier are the highlight to any trip to Seal Beach, and if you really want a treat, dine out on the pier at Ruby's Diner featuring ocean views and affordable, classic American food.
