Tamale Festival in Calistoga Celebrates Season with Sizzle

If the smell of tamales and sizzling foods over flames doesn't stir you into action, then the colorful costumes and festive dances of folklorico dance groups certainly will during Calistoga's Tamale Festival held May 1, 2011 in downtown Calistogo. The annual event is the town's very own salute to Cinco de Mayo, and its festive entertainment and sizzling cuisine bring smiles and sunshine to the historic streets of this charming Napa Valley destination.

2nd Annual Calistoga Tamale Festival takes place May 1, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is free, and the event is sponsored by the Calistoga Family Center (calistogafamilycenter.org). It will be held on Cedar Street and Pioneer Park. Bring your appetite, as many food items will be sold at this event.
