Oakland Zoo is GLOWFARI, a wildly illuminated nighttime lantern festival! Each season features new lighting and new themes. The family-friendly experience features hundreds of larger-than-life animal lanterns throughout the Zoo, storytelling the ongoing journey of wildlife, the importance of every species on our planet, and Oakland Zoo's commitment to conservation. Dozens of towering and even interactive, glowing lanterns of every order await to entertain and enlighten you at every turn.

New themes

Glowfari showcases hundreds of all-new animal lanterns throughout the Zoo, continuing a beloved holiday tradition while offering a new experience every year! This year, Glowfari features new themes for guests, highlighting the biodiversity of these regions and how species interact with their habitats:

• California forests
• San Francisco Bay
• Montana plains
• Florida Everglades
• Hawaii rainforests

Take a mile-long stroll, See illuminated and dazzling lanterns, Star-filled night sky and Ride lit gondolas to visit California Trail.

*Advance ticket purchase is required. Adventure Landing (rides area) will be closed for Glowfari. Proceeds from Glowfari support Oakland Zoo's operating expenses, animal care, education and conservation programs. All Glowfari tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE unless there is a Zoo closure.
