Nestled in the Oakland Hills, in 500-acre Knowland Park, ZooLights is a festival of hundreds of thousands of sparkling LED lights that illuminate the Zoo and night sky to celebrate a holiday tradition in Oakland. Dozens of colorfully lit animal-themed structures are situated throughout the Zoo for families to enjoy. Along with the annual meadow show featuring traditional animal characters and familiar holiday beats, the Zoo's African Veldt includes prehistoric dinosaurs, volcanoes, and explosions of light timed perfectly to illustrate a unique ensemble of holiday cheer in a Land of the Lost.
East Bay Zoological Society (Oakland Zoo) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization supported in part by members, contributions, the City of Oakland and the East Bay Regional Parks.
