The Oakland Zoo is home to over 300 animals from 50 different species living in lush, naturalistic settings. Special events throughout the year include Zoo Camps in the Summer, Zoo Nights movie viewing, holiday presentations and attractions and the winter Zoo Lights.
 

The exciting collection is organized in biomes, geographic regions that represent the ecosystem of that area. From Africa, to Asia, to Australia, to California, guests are invited to experience the animals you'd have to travel the world to see.

Adventure Landing rides include Tiger Trek rollercoaster, Conservation Carousel, Outback Express Adventure Train, and Serengeti Safari.

African Veldt includes a herd of giraffes, elands, egyptian geese, and more.

African Savanna includes amazing elephants, zebras, lions, an aviary with spectacular birds. Vervet Monkeys, Savanna Reptiles, Hyenas, and the popular Meerkat viewing tunnel entertain and educate.
Food options: African Savanna Café & pavillion. Restrooms are also located in this area.
Location: Up the hill past the Giraffes.

Rain Forest is home to Chimpanzee, White-Handed Gibbon, Siamang, Cotton-Topped Tamarin, and Squirrel Monkeys, as well as birds and reptile species. Majestic tiger enclosure includes a pond and waterfall.

Outback Express Adventure Train (located in the Rides Area) offers a fantastic sceen -- Wild Austrailia' s Emus and Wallaroos!

Children's Zoo offers four acres within the Oakland Zoo where children's museum and a playground designed for discovery encourages children to learn through exploration and play. Madagascar Trading Post sells food you can in the open space picnic area.

WildLife Theater in the Children's Zoo offers live animal presentations, overnights, and special presentations.

Sky Ride offers views of Bison and Tule Elk only seen from this attraction!

Animal Feedings several times each day.
